The
property at Arlington has 30 acres of rolling fields,
blackwood forests, lush fern gullies and spring-fed dams. You can
walk along tracks that wind through the paddocks and pathways that
descend to the gullies with their trickling creeks.
One dam is good for swimming
in the summer; in the other you can catch fish and yabbies, or just
sit quietly watching the birdlife and, if you’re lucky, the
platypuses.
A
wonderfully peaceful spot with magnificent views past the blackwood
forests to the ocean beyond Johanna Beach.
The
house was built from local timber and has a country farmhouse feel
with polished floorboards, a large well-equipped kitchen, renovated
bathroom with spa, new furniture and bedding and even a piano. It
sits in a mature garden bursting with flowers and shrubs.
In
winter it is toasty warm with both a wood fire and reverse cycle
heater. In summer have a game of croquet or sit on the wide veranda
watching the ships in the distance and surrounded by some of the
cleanest air in the world.
Arlington
is extremely cosy for two, yet comfortable for up to eight with
accommodation in four bedrooms with two queen size beds, two single
beds and a set of bunk beds.
