Thank you for a wonderful wedding anniversary trip! The house reminded us of our old country cottage in Yackandandah. We shall definitely be back and will bring the whole family next time. Troy and Rebecca, Vic. March 2012
What a lovely location. We have loved being here and it’s a wrench to leave. Will hopefully return on our next visit to Oz. Irene & Brian, UK. March 2012
Such a wonderful place, and literally right on our doorstep too. Fantastic location with more to do than we could manage in the short time we had here. We’ll definitely have to come back again…soon! Thanks for the help and hospitality you showed. Viewbank, Vic. March 2012
Such a gorgeous place. Garden wonderful. Views splendid and general ambience relaxing and unique. A wonderful part of Victoria – dams, beaches, trees, sea & sky as well as landscapes. Hope to be back one day. Thank you for the chats and information. House just lovely – would love to own it! A precious time with family and friends. A&T, Parramatta, NSW. 19 th March 2012
One of the best holidays we’ve ever had, relaxing from the minute we arrived, the views, the walks, the dams, the gardens. In our dreams we can imagine being owners of your be autiful property. Thank you for lending it to us. Eddie, Gloria and Haggie and Oscar the dogs. March 2012.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. It was one of the best last minute decisions we’ve made! The house is so welcoming and everything is fantastic. We enjoyed the quiet time spent fishing and yabbying (no luck!) and reading in front of the fire. Pretty amazing glow worm walk just outside the front door and all that this part of the world has to offer. We’ll definitely be back!! E&W, Richmond, Melbourne and B&W, Doncaster, Melbourne. March 2012
This is our second visit and just as awesome as the first in 2008. This time we have bought Carol and Lyn from the UK. We still have Georgie, the Bernese mountain dog and now Hugo Boss the westie, loved the sounds and smells…watching the roos in the morning over a cup of coffee, we saw the glow worms on your property, a wedge tail eagle – a wonderful sight – and all the birdlife. We thank you again for an awesome stay. We will be back. Gail and Adrian, Berwick, Victoria. February 2012
It’s so hard, from so far away, to look on the Internet and imagine what such a place is really going to be like – but this was all we could have wanted. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. We hope to come again. Sue and Ken, Toronto, Canada. January 2012.
Fantastic spot. Amazing views with the ever-changing weather. Greatly appreciated all the extras not normally found that made the stay so easy. Johanna Beach – wild and fantastic and loved the river! The glow worm walk at Melba on a warm night – best family fun ever. Of the falls, Be auchamp trumped the others, 12 Apostles/Port Campbell/Otway Lighthouse – all worth the trip but the best of all was the walk on the farm. D’O Family, Lower Templestowe. January 2012
We deeply regret not to have stayed another week, my family loved the experience of staying in such a lovely place, we’ll have wonderful memories to take back to our country. ( Sao P aulo, Brazil). December 2011
Thanks for a truly wonderful stay at your fantastic property. We had everything we needed to be cosy and comfortable on the most unique property we’ve ever been to. B&K. 31 st October 2011
We had a relaxing time staying in this beautiful house. Robert, our fox-terrier cross, was in doggy heaven. Our son Archie (5) loved catching yabbies. We caught over 20 and cooked them up – delicious! Was great to get away from it all and spend time walking around this property. Thank you for your hospitality Heather and Nigel.
Michelle, Tim, Archie and Robert, Ocean Grove. Jan 2010
This is the 3 rd time we have come back to this picturesque spot. Everything you need is here! The house is warm and inviting!! Love it!!!
Lisa and Stephen, Brunswick, Victoria. Feb 2010
We have stayed in numerous places/holiday homes along the Great Ocean Road but nothing compares to Arlington. Beautiful, beautiful place! Felt so “at home”. We will definitely return and stay longer next time, not to mention recommend to family and friends. Thankyou for such a lovely and memorable time/holiday (too short!).
Damon & Maria, Mont Albert, Victoria. April 2010
Nice secluded location and a well setup house - it had it all. Great spot for exploring the whole Great Ocean Road (being in the middle made short trips either way possible) and also the Otways. Open fire even came in handy despite it being the height of the Australian Summer.
Everyone loved it! Very relaxing yet lots for the toddlers to do on the “farm” – tending the veggie patch, waiting for the train at the tracks, running around the paddocks and looking for fish in the dams. Thankyou. A great weekend away from the hustle and bustle. Very much appreciated.
Claudia, Melbourne. November 2009
Very magical, relaxing. Peaceful atmosphere, as well as lots of exploring/outdoor activities. The views are just breathtaking. Will definitely be coming back. Great for pets also. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Ed and Dan. March 2009
It was the best place we ever stayed. Warm, beautiful, charming! Everything! Thankyou for the harmony and peace. We’ll be back.
Julia and Victor. March 2009
T’was a long drive from County Antrim, the thirty hours of planes, trains and automobiles was well worth it upon reaching Arlington! The house was homely and the owners welcoming. We have spent the past days enjoying the beautiful views, catching yabbies and soaking up the sun in the fabulous garden. The children have spent endless hours exploring outdoors, the grounds really were fantastic for our three energetic boys. The log fire was gorgeous!! Thanks for providing a home away from home. We will definitely be back! Can’t wait!!

What a wonderful start to a new year. Such tranquillity. We have enjoyed every moment here – the boys off exploring and playing around the grounds, us sitting enjoying the terrific views and lovely garden, and the dogs eyeing up the sheep! Thanks for the wellies especially. Our every need catered for thoughtfully. We are looking forward to our return already.
Gill, Phil, Ryan, Thomas, Boris and Albie. Jan 2009
How beautiful can one place be? Everything we needed or wanted is here. We had a wonderful time. Gumboots – great idea, it’ll be hard getting our 3 year old to leave them here! Many thanks and thank God for people like you and your family here to create and maintain places like Arlington.
The W.M. Family, Victoria. Jan 2009
We would like to have stayed here much longer! Our boys loved the freedom and the space to roam. The gumboots, croquet, bathbombs, games, CDs – all made the house feel like a home, even if it was only for a few days. The weather was chilly so the fire and electric blankets were really appreciated! We love this part of Victoria – the scenery is just beautiful and we would love to come again! Thanks!

I’ve travelled quite a bit in Australia and also Europe and it’s been all very beautiful but our stay in your beautiful home and fantastic property with the beautiful gardens, dams and wildlife has topped it all!! I feel so sad to leave but we’ve got the most beautiful documentary to look back on. I can very much recommend the scenic helicopter flight over the 12 Apostles!! I totally forgot about my vertigo!!! Thank you both so very much for letting us have the experience of a lifetime in your place. I would like to bring our daughter and our son-in-law here to share this wonderful place with us hopefully next year!
Canberra. Sept 07
Wow! You’ve heard it all before but this place is amazing! I stayed in the bunk room in between walking all 91 kms of the Great Ocean Walk and loved the garden outside my window – I reckon you could have a wedding ceremony there! Sydney Sept 07
So glad we chose Arlington for our stay in the Otways. We’re returning home reluctantly, but relaxed and refreshed. The house is lovely. The views were a definite highlight. Thank you for the experience Rowville. Vic. October 07
A lovely homely cottage in a glorious setting. Loved the spectacular views, the birds, garden and dams which our hardy English daughters swam in with my husband. 12 Apostles, Otway Fly, Triplet Waterfalls and Melba Gully all wonderful. The roaring waves of Johanna Beach equally thrilling…

Have stayed in a few places and this would have to be the best we’ve stayed in! Tranquil, peaceful place. Immediately felt straight at home. Don’t want to leave. Brunswick, Vic. Feb 08
After a couple of recent bad experiences of cottages where the advertising was the only “excellent” feature, Arlington has restored our faith and re-kindled the desire for weekends away. The facilities are excellent, everything warm and inviting. You get the feeling the hosts actually want to share their magnificent environment with you rather than just take your money! Congratulations – 11 out of 10 for everything. Melbourne Feb 08.
We arrived Monday afternoon and didn’t leave the property until we had to check out on Friday morning. Exactly what we had planned! Our 7 month old Golden Lab loved swimming in the dam. We couldn’t keep her out of it. The gardens are beautiful and the gully walks are wonderful. There was too much to do, lay around, sleep, read trashy magazines in the sun, eat…it was just what we needed…couldn’t have hoped for more.

Beautiful property, lovely views and a great place to stay! Thank you for having everything one would need in the house! Our only regret is having to go home!!
Two great dinners (thank you for the fantastic kitchen), two great games tournaments and two yabbie hunts. Who could ask for more? Lary, Lily and Jane, Oakleigh
Arlington is wonderful and peaceful. This place and the Great Ocean Road are probably going to be one of our favourite trips in Australia. Brian, Hendy and family, Washington DC, USA
What a great place – warm, welcoming and homely – in rain and shine. Lots of nice touches to make an enjoyable stay, from the croquet (I hope that ball down the gully turns up soon!), to the books, CDs and games. Thanks, we will return. Simon, Linda & Olivia.
Spending 2 nights here with my family, who visit from Shanghai, we are more than happy. We enjoy the peaceful lovely view of the dusk. My father particularly loves the house and would like to come again next time he visits Australia. Our dog Daniel loves to see the birds and watch the fire burning. Thanks you very muchfor making our stay such a unique and unfortgettable event!
Arlington succeeds. It is, at once, a safe and beguiling place for our 3 year old. Repleat with enchanted forest, magical “lake” and bewitched sheep. For we bigger children there are ethereal delights like silence, space and a host of memory invoking smells and sounds. Craig, Brigitte and Jasmine, Melbourne

What
a find! We're introducing a Canadian to this sublime
part of the world and re-introducing an Australian.
Arlington is a very special spot and we appreciate
the love and care the owners have taken with both
house and garden. We enjoyed the history in the
manual too, which gave us a lovely and romantic
sense of time and place.
Highlights: the Apostles (of course) and the glow
worms up the road - with baby falling asleep on
Daddy's shoulder and 3 year old awed by the 'stars'
beside us in the deep dark forest. Many thanks.
Miles, Elpy and Family, Preston, Vic.
Such a wonderful part of Victoria. View is magnificent.
It is fantastic what you've done to the house
and gardens. Enjoyed reading your manual. Loved
your woodwork (table and woodbox) - beautiful
wood. Found the house very warm, welcoming and
comfortable. Met many of your residents - rabbits,
fox, parrots. So glad we chose to stay at Arlington.
Thank you for the opportunity. Will tell our friends.
