The
name La Luna (the moon) comes from the semi circular design of the
house that takes in the 360 degree views of the ocean and the surrounding
forest. It was designed to suit the block by architect Donald Spencer
renowned for his unusual style.
Situated
on a sunny natural bluff with two street frontages, La Luna has
stunning, uninterrupted views of the Wye River beach and over towards
Point Sturt. The house is just 150 meters from the beach, general
store and the Wye Beach Hotel.
The
secluded block is one third of an acre planted with Australian natives
to attract the myriad of bird life that surrounds the house including
the bowerbirds that eat the fruit from the balcony and the tame
King Parrots and rosellas that eat from your hands.
La Luna
is a semi circular pole house over several levels with three balconies
all with ocean views.
Main
Level (Upstairs)
Upstairs, the open plan living area has a dining table that seats
6, as well as leather couches, a Coonara wood fire, reverse cycle
air conditioner and ceiling fans. In the lounge, there is an LCD
flat screen television with Austar as well as most commercial channels.
The DVD player comes complete with a large DVD library, VCR and
CD player, heaps of CD's, games and a large collection of books
and magazines.
The
large balcony off the living area has stunning ocean views, with
an outdoor setting, BBQ and banana lounges to soak up the sun on.
The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher, and huge bench
space that overlooks the living area and of course the ocean.
The
master bedroom is also upstairs, adjoining the living area separated
by bifold doors. You can lie in bed and look at the ocean. There
is an ensuite bathroom off this bedroom.
Downstairs
On the lower level there are two bedrooms both with built in robes.
A rumpus room with a full size pool table also contains a bar fridge,
and sleeping nook with a single bed. There is also a bathroom and
laundry. Help yourself to the wetsuits and a boogey board.
A stairway down the front of the block short cuts through to the
beach.
The house has easy vehicle access and undercover parking.
