The house was built to capture the views of the waves rolling in on Separation Creek beach which is less than a 2-minute stroll away. The backdrop to the beach house is the spectacular Otway Ranges and the home of our koalas (sometimes raucously) resting in the fork of the eucalyptus trees jealously watching you hand-feed the wild parrots and Rosella's on the large deck that embraces the stunning views of the ocean and the Great Ocean Road that meanders around to Wye River.Although the house can accommodate eight, the living area is ideal for couples escapes, family holidays and friend reunions. There are electric blankets on the queen sized beds, and reverse cycle heating downstairs for winter warmth and summer cooling.
The front coastal deck which flows off the kitchen and lounge area provides stunning views to the ocean. The kitchen is well equipped to cook the daily catch or - if all else fails - the family roast! The wonder dishwasher will do its magic. A log fire with superb ocean views is the main feature of the upstairs main lounge room, which includes TV with DVD, iPod docking station/CD player, a library, games and DVDs for all ages. Books are also freely available for borrowing and exchange at the community library book stand on your way to the beach!
2 Degrees is located only minutes away from the Wye River Hotel and General Store with their stunning views and great food. Only 15 minutes away is the vibrant seaside township of Lorne with its quality cafes, gourmet restaurants and fashion outlets; and Apollo Bay is 25 km away, with spectacular ocean views along the way.
With the Great Ocean Road at your doorstep, 2 Degrees provides the perfect base to enjoy this region, with some of the best local attractions including the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk, the 12 Apostles and the Great Ocean Walk in easy driving distance. For those who prefer the challenge of two wheels (or two feet!) the opportunities are endless with bike and walking tracks thru the Otway hills behind Wye & Separation Creek.
